Welcome to ATU Choirs 鈥� Come Sing With Us!

At ATU Choirs, singing is at the heart of our musical community, and there is a place for every voice. Whether you are seeking a high-level choral experience or a more relaxed way to make music, ATU Choirs offers an ensemble for you.

The 九秀直播 Music Department places music education at the center of its mission while fostering artistic excellence, collaboration, and community in both its instrumental and choral ensembles. We invite you to join our long-standing tradition of meaningful music-making.

Our choirs are made up of dedicated music majors as well as students from a wide range of academic disciplines across campus. No matter your background or major, there is a place for you to sing at ATU.

How to Join ATU Choirs

Step 1: Become a Tech student.
Ensure your University application and/or acceptance is complete.

Step 2: Select your ensemble and enroll/register.
ATU offers three vocal ensembles 鈥� ATU Choral Artists, University Singers, and Concert Chorale. See our Ensembles page for details and course meeting times. 

  • A placement audition (choral placement hearing) is required for acceptance and enrollment in ATU Choral Artists and University Singers. Any student who would like to be considered for one of these ensembles must complete a choral placement hearing at the start of each academic year.

  • Any student may register directly for Concert Chorale MUS1681/3681. Concert Chorale is a non-auditioned ensemble and does not require the completion of a choral placement hearing.

Step 3: Complete a Choral Placement Hearing (placement audition) if required.

  • In-person Choral Placement Hearing Dates Fall 2026
      • Sunday, August 2: 1 pm - 5:30 pm
      • Monday, August 3: 10 am - 5:30 pm
      • Tuesday, August 4: 10 am - 5:30 pm

Step 4: Come sing!
Meet new friends and welcome to ATU.

Additional Information

  • ATU Choral Artists and University Singers are auditioned ensembles. Music majors and non-music majors are encouraged to audition. Prior choral singing experience is recommended.

  • Concert Chorale does not require an audition and is open to all students, regardless of major or prior experience.

  • Choral scholarships are available by audition for students of any major. Auditions for scholarships are held in the Spring semester.

    • Choral scholarship auditions are embedded within the music major audition process. See the Department of Music Page Audition Information for details on becoming a music major.

    • Incoming non-majors (rising Freshmen) interested in scholarships should sign up for a music-major audition and indicate 鈥渟cholarship consideration only鈥� by contacting the Director of Choral Activities at krohwer@atu.edu.

    • New or returning students interested in scholarship consideration should contact the Director of Choral Activities.
